Five Natural Women’s Health Boosters

Can you imagine what women could accomplish if they had more energy and fewer illnesses to slow them down? Fortunately, there are holistic methods that can be used to improve women’s health, no matter the issue.

Common Women’s Health Concerns

Women are affected by a variety of unique health concerns, along with some that are common to both sexes. These include:

  • Heart disease
  • Autoimmune disease
  • Osteoporosis
  • Depression
  • Breast cancer
  • Endometriosis
  • Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
  • Painful menstruation

These health issues can stop a woman in her tracks, making life difficult. Fortunately, there are natural ways to prevent or treat common concerns.

Holistic Health Tips

The internet is full of general tips for improving health. In fact, we’ve written several articles that you can study – click on these links to find posts: on breast cancer prevention, on heart health, on safe exercise, and on women’s health. As you read through these articles, you’ll find some standard pieces of advice. These include:

So, we are not going to rehash those sage pieces of advice in this article. Instead, we are going to discuss five additional natural health boosters that every woman can use right now:

1. Practice joint support.

Many of the things we do to support our joints double as heart-health boosters. Here are just a few ways you can work to create healthy joints and a healthy heart:

  • Doing strength-based exercises.
  • Drinking green tea.
  • Enjoying anti-inflammatory foods and spices like turmeric, ginger, cherries, and onions.
  • Taking long, relaxing soaks in Epsom salts.
  • Working toward attaining and maintaining a healthy weight.

2. Try meditation

There are many ways to take some time out, reduce stress, and recharge. One such method is to meditate. Meditation can improve mental health, reduce instances of depression and anxiety, and promote excellent sleep.

Meditation is simple. You can simply take a few moments out of the day to focus on deep breathing in a quiet space, try to consider things for which you are grateful, or attempt longer meditation sessions during yoga or by concentrating on an object or mantra.

3. Take a break from tech

Tech has rewired our brains to shorten attention spans, make us more anxious, and cause insomnia. While it’s pretty much impossible to go tech-free for life, you can take a break from technology by turning off your phone and reading a book, heading out for a hike, going camping, or just enjoying time with friends. You can even have a tech-free barbecue with friends and family, with everyone leaving his or her device in a basket at the front door.

4. Try herbal supports

Many herbs and teas can assist with women’s reproductive health. Here are a few: nettle, red raspberry leaf, oat straw, Peruvian ginseng, ashwagandha, black cohosh, red clover, and vitex.

5. Be aware of your own body

Awareness of your body and your health can be one of the more difficult things to cultivate. However, tracking ovulation, weight, stress levels, or pain can result in a better understanding of what is normal for you and what can improve. For example, painful menstruation – even if that’s normal – may be caused by something other than your cycle. Understanding your own body can assist you as you work toward improving your overall health.
