Urinary Tract Infections

Naturopathic Urinary Tract Infection Treatment

The urinary tract is the system of organs that produce urine and carry it out of your body. This includes the bladder and the kidneys and all of the tubes that connect them. When germs find their way into your urethra, they can cause a urinary tract infection (UTI). Women have a higher risk of developing a UTI than men.

The vast majority of urinary tract infections are located in the bladder. Bladder infections can be treated quite easily if the infection is caught early. If it is not, however, the infection can spread to the kidneys, which is a very serious health problem and much more difficult to treat.

Some symptoms associated with a UTI are feeling pain or burning when urinating, your belly feels sensitive and heavy, your urine is cloudy or smells bad, you experience a fever and chills, or you experience nausea and vomiting. If you have pain on one side of your back under your ribs, then it most likely means that you have a kidney infection. There are steps you can take to prevent developing a UTI. Drinking plenty of fluids will keep your urinary tract clear of germs or debris. Also, urinating immediately after intercourse can prevent harmful bacteria from entering your bladder and kidneys.

At Flow Natural Health Care, our kind and compassionate naturopathic medical professionals will work with you to come up with an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
