Menopausal Symptoms

Menopause is the permanent end of menstruation and fertility, and it usually takes place in your 40’s and 50’s. Medically speaking, a woman is considered menopausal when she has not had a period for 6 to 12 months after age 45. Menopause is a natural process, but it can result in uncomfortable physical and mental symptoms nonetheless. The average age that women experience menopause in the United States is 51.

In the years leading up to menopause, referred to as the perimenopause phase, many women may experience irregular periods, hot flashes, night sweats, trouble sleeping, mood swings, slow metabolism and weight gain, thinning hair and dry skin. During and after menopause, many women report feelings of loss and sadness. Others report feeling relieved because they no longer have to worry about pregnancy. No two women experience menopause the same, which is why we treat each and every one of our patients with the same high levels of care and respect.

At Flow Natural Health Care, our diligent and friendly Naturopathic physicians specialize in treating and easing the litany of symptoms associated with menopause. Using a combination of natural and modern medical treatments, we will get you back to feeling like your normal, healthy self.
