Philosophy and Approach: I use an integrative approach to counseling with an emphasis in the cognitive behavioral model. I work in partnership with individuals to develop an understanding of individual strengths, personal challenges and gaining knowledge and awareness of personal choices. I recognize the importance of systemic influences in client’s lives and work with the individual in developing insight into their relationships and their behavior.
Formal Education and Training: I hold a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis & Clark College. Major Coursework includes Counseling Theories, Diagnosis and Treatment Planning, Assessment, Individual Counseling, Group Counseling, Lifespan Development, Family Counseling, Counseling Children and Adolescents, Career Counseling and Research Methods. Degree included a specialization in addictions counseling. I am also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I hold an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University. In addition, I hold a Masters in Business Administration from Woodbury University; emphasis on management and human behavior.
